Suspected drug house in Pittsfield searched, three charged with trafficking

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Three men were arrested in connection with a large-scale drug trafficking operation in Pittsfield.

No arrests made after deadly shooting on Hancock Street in Springfield

According to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, an extensive investigation led to the arrests outside 30 Brown Street in Pittsfield on Tuesday afternoon. At around 12:25 p.m., law enforcement observed three suspects walking out of the home, 25-year-old Kareem Archibald , 33-year-old Maurice Simmons , both from Bronx, New York, and 22-year-old Jah’Rell J. Mayes of Pittsfield.

Archibald and Simmons complied with officers however Mayes ran away but was caught at 18 Oak Street. A search warrant was then conducted inside the home and officers recovered guns, ammunition, drugs, cash, and other items that indicated the house was used as a central location for drug dealing:

  • Approximately 50 half packs (2,500 baggies) of heroin
  • Black Sig Sauer 9mm loaded with eleven rounds
  • Taurus Millennium .40 Caliber loaded with ten rounds
  • Additional 9mm magazine with ten rounds of 9mm ammunition
  • Additional fifty rounds of 9mm ammunition in a box
  • Approximately $5,000 in a duffle bag
  • Approximately $11,950 in a safe
  • Approximately $26
  • Two functioning digital scales
