GLENVILLE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — More local leaders have responded after the Glenridge Road Bridge in Glenville was struck by oversize vehicles twice on Tuesday. Acting Supervisor Robert Kirkham said the town will work with the state and federal government to bring in funding to study ways to prevent strikes.

The supervisor said the bridge is a public safety concern and disrupts deliveries and other services. The bridge has been hit repeatedly over the years despite a number of safety measures, including a laser detection system and a truck turnaround.
Officials said it is the driver’s responsibility to know the height of their vehicle and to take a different route if necessary.
