Mohawk Hudson River half and full marathons run through Capital Region

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) – The Mohawk Hudson River Marathon and Half Marathon took place throughout the Capital Region on Sunday. Nearly 850 runners participated in the half marathon and 520 in the full marathon. The race was along the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers, utilizing 18 miles of paved bikeways.

It was the 41st running of the marathon and the 22nd running of the half marathon. The race had runners who participated who broke records. The half marathon started in Cohoes and the full 26 miles started in Schenectady, both ended in downtown Albany. Maureen Cox, the Hudson Mohawk Road Runners Club, Mohawk Hudson River Marathon Race Director, said the race has deep roots in the Capital Region.

“Its a race that has been running through the Capital Region, and runners love it,” Cox said. “The crowd support out there is amazing, and the volunteers are amazing.”

Cox said 850 people ran in the half marathon, and 520 in the full marathon, and the people came from all around the world to do it.
