November “Stand Down” to help veterans and involve community

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )— The Saratoga – Wilton Elks will host a “Stand Down” for veterans on November 3.

From 1 to 4 p.m., the lodge will invite any and all vets looking for help—whether they are seeking networking opportunities, health services, or even a safe place to call home.

An organizer, Erwin Dominguez, said this “stand down” is all about the community wrapping their arms around our local vets. There are still opportunities for local businesses and providers to get involved.

“We get to switch roles, right?,” Dominguez said. “Usually, we’re blessed by our veterans for providing us freedom. And this is the point now where our community can bless our veterans with providing them with opportunities.”

There will be everything from barbers and food banks to doctors and nurses at the Stand Down. If your business or service wants to help, you can contact Erwin at 808-352-6477.
