ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The 27th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is set for Saturday, October 26. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) hosts this day to provide residents with a way to safely dispose of their unused medication.

In April, 4,607 law enforcement agencies across the United States participated in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The DEA collected 335 tons of unwanted medication that day.
These events are held every April and October. Here’s where you can drop off your unused and unwanted medication in the Capital Region on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
