ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — An arrest was made after shots were fired in the city of Albany on Saturday night.

Around 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, on-duty Colonie police officers in a marked patrol unit in the area of Henry Johnson Boulevard and Clinton Avenue watched Michael Johnson, 38, fire a handgun at an occupied vehicle. Officers took him into custody after a brief foot pursuit. Police said a loaded 9mm handgun was also recovered along the path where he fled.
Johnson was turned over to Albany police and was found to be in possession of crack cocaine. The vehicle he fired upon fled the scene. No injuries were reported.
Johnson was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned and released.
