Albany man arrested on felony drug possession charges

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– On Monday, the Albany County Sheriff’s Community Oriented Policing Effort conducted a narcotics investigation near Broad and Schuyler Streets in Albany. Charles McCormick III, 31, faces multiple felony charges stemming from the investigation.

Around 12:32 p.m., police conducted an investigation into drug sales in the City of Albany. McCormick III was allegedly found to have approximately five grams of cocaine, three grams of fentanyl and around 2 grams of fake oxycodone pills, pressed with fentanyl. Police say they also found glassine envelopes, commonly used for packaging and the sale of drugs.

Charges:

  • Criminal Possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony
  • Criminal Possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence, a class E felony
  • Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor
  • Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
