RYEGATE, Vt. ( NEWS10 ) — The FBI field office in Albany is investigating after a shooting Thursday afternoon. The incident took place around 1:15 p.m. on Route 5 in Ryegate, Vermont.

An FBI spokesperson said the shooting involved an alleged assault on a US Marshal. One person is in custody, and there is no known threat to the public.
The FBI is working with Vermont State Police on the investigation.
