ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) – An Albany man has been charged in connection with an assault Friday afternoon that left an officer with an injury to his hand, police said Saturday. According to a release, on-duty Albany Police officers were in the area of Jay and Quail Streets at approximately 4:30 p.m. Friday, when they observed a fight between James Farmer, 41, and another man. Farmer reportedly hit the man – who has not been identified by police – in the head with a glass bottle, and punched him several times in the back of the head. When they tried to intervene, authorities said Farmer ignored their commands and ran off.
