Veterans Voices: We honor and thank those who serve

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) β€” Veterans Day is celebrated with parades and ceremonies all across the Capital Region. We honor those from the greatest generation to those serving across the country and the world today.

The holiday as we know it was signed into law in 1954, but Veterans Day dates back to the end of World War One. It was originally called Armistice Day, following the treaty that ended the β€œWar to End All Wars.” The treaty was signed on November 11th 1919. Nearly 115 years later, the nation celebrates all who have served on the same day every year.

With our special program, Veterans Voices, News10 ABC highlights the men and women of the armed forces. We honor their sacrifices in battle and on the home front.
