COLONIE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Some local police officers were recognized on Tuesday for helping track down a bank robbery suspect . Trustco Bank honored members of the Colonie Police Department by presenting a $2,500 grant for the department’s K9 program.

K9 Officer Eddie was also treated to a gift basket.
Eddie located a bank robbery suspect, who was found hiding in the woods. Police said 18-year-old Christian Aquino passed a note to the teller, displayed what appeared to be a firearm, and demanded cash. He took the money and fled on foot.
Aquino was charged with grand larceny, robbery, and criminal possession of a weapon. He pleaded not guilty.
