MENANDS, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– On Tuesday, over 250 families delivered gifts to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. The families arrived at the animal shelter armed with food, pet supplies, toys, and more for the animals looking for a forever home.

Over 400 people travel to the humane society on Christmas Eve each year. The shelter began the tradition in 2012 when Kelly Mateja brought her three grade schoolers to the shelter as an act of kindness on the morning of Christmas Eve.
