Planning board sets hearing on beleaguered Saratoga mobile home park

SARATOGA — Despite the state attorney general’s office validating to the town that a mobile home park must remain as such until 2026, the town’s planning board is moving forward in its review of plans to transform the Saratoga Lakeview Mobile Park into a boat and RV storage facility.

At the December meeting of the town’s planning board, members heard about plans from property owner Michael Giovanone’s engineer about expanding Giovanone’s neighboring Boat N RV Condos into the park. On Wednesday, Jan. 22, the planning board will hold a public hearing on Giovanone’s proposal.

The move has created concern for some residents of the park, who worry that if the property owner is given approvals by the town, the owner may not honor a contractual agreement that he not begin construction there until 2026…
