Colonie used car dealer sentenced for dodging $160K in taxes

ALBANY — A Colonie used car dealer was sentenced to probation Thursday for failing to pay sales tax on cars he sold for the better part of a decade.

Guy Kennedy Nicolas and his company, G&A Auto Care, Inc., underreported more than $2 million worth of vehicle sales and did not pay required state sales taxes amounting to $160,000, Attorney General Letitia James said in a news release. Albany County Judge William Little sentenced Nicolas to five years of probation and ordered him to pay back the money.
