New Con Ed rates could see triple digit bill increase, according to report

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A prospective Con Edison rate increase could see a triple digit increase on monthly bills, according to a new report from the New York Post.

The rate hike, which still exists only as a proposal, could see average energy and gas bills increase by over $150 a month, the Post reports.

The energy company will have to get approval from the New York state government‘s Public Service Commission to actually increase electricity bills by around 11% and gas bills by about 13%…
