ALBANY, N.Y. — After nearly 3 weeks of wildcat strikes, an agreement has been reached between the state and the NYS Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA).
But according to the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS), the deal is only valid if 85% of the “pre-strike fill level of employees” return to work by Monday, March 10 by 6:45 a.m. No strike penalties have been waived in the agreement; if the 85% threshold isn’t reached, C.O.s who have been terminated will remain so, and anyone subject to prosecution for Taylor Law violations will still be at risk…
