03/08/2025: Cold & Windy Again, But Trending Milder

The Latest Storm Tracker Forecast from Meteorologist Kevin Appleby:

After a morning snow shower, winds pick up once again on Saturday, gusting close to 50 MPH in spots. While it’s another chilly day, temperatures trend significantly milder into next week with a stretch of generally pleasant weather in store for us.

That band of snow was in association with a weakening cold front, but was enhanced a bit as it passed over the Great Lakes. In wake of this boundary, winds kick in for the remainder of Saturday. Wind Advisories are in effect through 10 PM tonight for portions of the Mohawk Valley, Capital District, and Berkshires, where winds may gust to around 50 MPH once again.

Temperatures struggle to climb today despite a mild start – only low to mid 30s for many. And it will feel much colder with the wind blowing despite more PM sunshine – wind chill values will spend much of the day less than 20 degrees…
