New York Weather Alert: Heavy Snow Reduces Visibility in Albany, Schenectady, and Saratoga

Albany, NY – A band of heavy snow is moving southeast across upstate New York early Saturday morning, causing hazardous travel conditions and significantly reducing visibility in impacted areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Albany, the snow band was located near Clifton Park and Cooperstown at 6:14 a.m. EST, moving southeast at 25 mph. The affected areas include Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga, Montgomery, and Schoharie counties. Visibility may be reduced to as little as one mile as the snow continues to fall.

Major highways impacted by the storm include Interstate 88 between exits 20 and 25, Interstate 90 between exits 4 and 26, Interstate 890 between exits 1A and 9, Interstate 87 between exits 24 and 7, and Interstate 787 between exits 7 and 9.
