GLENS FALLS — Funeral arrangements are being made for Michelle McFarren, the 43-year-old woman whose body was found Thursday in a clothes donation bin that had caught fire, as city officials and a large network of friends and relatives grapple with the circumstances surrounding her death.
An obituary for McFarren says she is survived by her mother, three children, three grandchildren and five siblings in addition to many other relatives in western Vermont and eastern upstate New York. Her obituary says she was born in Bennington, Vt. and attended Salem Washington Academy, a high school in Salem, Washington County. Police have said McFarren lived in “the Glens Falls area.”
“Her presence was magnetic, and she could always be counted on to bring warmth, fun, and light into any room,” her obituary said. “Whether she was dancing, singing, or simply enjoying music, she found peace and happiness in the rhythm of life.”…
