BRUNSWICK, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) – Duncan’s Dairy Bar has been a staple in the community for more than 85 years. The family-run business opened as an ice cream parlor in 1939 and over time expanded to a full-service diner.
On average, they go through 1,000 pounds of potato and 200 pounds of butter a week. John Squadrito started washing dishes at Duncan’s Dairy Bar and by 13, he was asking to help with the baking. His grandmother taught him her recipes and they are the same ones they still use today.

From bread to cinnamon buns, they make everything from scratch. Squadrito said “nothing comes from a box or a can.”
