Two men arrested after traffic stop in Albany, charged with felonies

Albany, NY (WRGB) — Two men were arrested on felony firearm possession charges Thursday following an Albany traffic stop, according to police.

On Thursday at 5:54 p.m., as part of the Albany County Sheriff’s Community Oriented Policing Effort, conducted a traffic stop in the area of Eagle St. and Morton Ave. in the City of Albany for a traffic violation.

The driver, identified as Maleek S. McMurray, 24, of Troy, was reportedly in possession of a loaded Stoeger STR 9mm firearm, that was equipped with a high capacity magazine containing twelve rounds of ammunition. The investigation also revealed that the passenger, Patris J. Derville Jr., 26, of Albany, was reportedly in possession of a loaded Smith and Wesson M&P .45 caliber firearm that was reported stolen out of Rutland County, Vermont…
