Dennis Drue, on parole for killing 2 Shen students, arrested for impersonation

COLONIE — Dennis S. Drue, who spent nine years in prison after he was convicted of vehicular homicide for a crash that killed two teenagers and left two others with critical injuries, was arrested recently by Colonie police after he allegedly gave them a false name when an officer questioned him.

Drue was in an idling vehicle on Wednesday night at The Crossings Park of Colonie off Albany-Shaker Road when a patrol officer approached and began questioning Drue and a female passenger. The woman left after giving police her name.

Drue, 34, allegedly gave the officer a false name — “James Parker” — but provided his real date of birth. When the officer could not verify Drue’s identity, he allegedly told police that it might be because he has an out-of-state license. But Drue then told police his real name and allegedly said he was “nervous … because he is on parole for vehicular homicide.”…
