Schenectady woman charged with neglecting disabled father

SCHENECTADY — A 73-year-old disabled man police said was being cared for by his daughter, a home health aide, was found emaciated and weighed only 72 pounds when police rescued him earlier this week from the home where the family lived, according to police and court records.

Sgt. Jeff McCutcheon, a city police spokesman, said Christine Jackson was arrested Tuesday and charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, a felony.

The 49-year-old Schenectady mother pleaded not guilty during her arraignment in City Court Tuesday to the charge and was released pending a future court date…
