It was seven months ago that we revealed structural problems on the recently completed 4 billion dollar Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.
Now we’ve learned the work to repair 61 structurally deficient anchor pipes that connect to the bridge cables is about to start.
NYS Thruway Executive Director Frank Hoare says it will be a multi-phase rehabilitation project that will start in just a matter of weeks, once the weather gets a little warmer.
