SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Schenectady detectives are investigating a case of animal cruelty after a severely injured dog was found wandering the streets alone. The dog, named Lavender by the staff now treating her, was discovered Saturday night with one of her ears apparently intentionally cut off. Police say she also had severe wounds to her face, fractured teeth, and was severely underweight.
“These are very serious injuries and really something that we take pretty seriously, very seriously,” said Lt. Ryan Macherone of the Schenectady Police Department. “Many of us are pet owners here and so this doesn’t feel too good to be investigated.”
These charges could have serious consequences, being felony charges…
