COLONIE, N.Y. — (WRGB) Dennis Drue, who was convicted for a 2012 crash that killed two Shenendehowa High School students, appeared in court Monday after being arrested for providing a false name to officers, a violation of his parole. Drue, who was released on parole in 2023 after serving more than 10 years in prison, was taken into custody on March 19 at The Crossings park.
The hearing, held at the Colonie court, was brief. Drue remains in custody at Schenectady County Jail, facing charges of false personation, a Class B misdemeanor.
The families of the victims, Deanna Rivers and Chris Stewart, were present in the courtroom. Deanna’s father expressed his feelings, saying, “Disgusted. I haven’t seen him in 13 years. I don’t care to see him ever again.”…
