Pittsfield man charged with intent to murder after stabbing incident

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A 60-year-old man sustained severe wounds following a stabbing incident early Wednesday morning in Pittsfield.

Springfield man arrested after crashing 4-wheeler into police cruiser in Chicopee

Pittsfield Police Department Lieutenant John Soules said that at approximately 2:52 a.m. on Wednesday, officers received a report of a stabbing incident at a multi-family dwelling on Woodlawn Avenue. Officers arrived and located a 60-year-old man with at least one stab wound.

The victim was brought to Berkshire Medical Center to be treated for his serious injury and is expected to survive. Investigators identified 40-year-old Jason Wright of Pittsfield as a suspect and arrested him.

Jason Wright was charged with:

  • Armed Assault with Intent to Murder
  • Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
  • Assault and Battery on a Person aged 60 or Over

Pittsfield Police said that Wright and the victim are believed to know each other. The incident is currently being investigated…
