Albany woman arrested in alleged early morning stabbing

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — An Albany woman was arrested in connection with an alleged early morning stabbing on Saturday, the Albany Police Department told NEWS10. Xioma Farez, 31, reportedly faces charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

At around 3:45 a.m., Albany police officers responded to a reported stabbing incident at a home on Western Avenue near Cortland Place, the department said. Upon arrival, police reportedly located a 28-year-old male with a stab wound to his arm.

According to the department, police identified Farez as the suspect of the stabbing and she was taken into custody at the scene. The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities told NEWS10. Farez and the victim allegedly knew each other.

Farez has reportedly been charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court Saturday morning…
