ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– Nine Albany residents were temporarily displaced after a fire broke out at a multi-unit home on Hurlbut Street. According to the Albany Fire Chief Joseph Gregory, there were no reported injuries to both civilians or firefighters.

According to Gregory, crews were dispatched to the fire at 9:25 p.m. and arrived on scene three minutes later. Upon arrival, firefighters reported a fire on the second floor porch area.
Prior to the arrival of the fire department, all nine occupants self evacuated from the space. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control by 9:38 p.m.

Gregory said four residents from the first floor, and five from the second, will be temporarily displaced while crews determine a cause of the fire.
According to Gregory, there was no extension to the interior of the house and the fire did not spread to neighboring houses. The cause of the fire remains under investigation…
