ATHENS, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — A barge operated by Coeymans-based Carver Companies was found to have caused the damage done to the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse .

According to the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse Preservation Society, Carver reached out to them as soon as they heard about the incident Wednesday morning.
Brian Moore, the general manager of Carver Marine Towing, said weather may have been a factor in the crash, and the captain of the tugboat was suspended.
