The Schenectady Police Department, in collaboration with the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (MHHS), is launching a series of free pet food pantry pop-up events for city residents in need, beginning next week.
The initiative, part of the Pets Are Family Too Assistance Program, is funded by a $20,000 grant awarded to the city in 2023 through the Better Cities for Pets™ program. The program was developed by Lieutenant Michael Dalton and Animal Control Officer Elizabeth Booke and reflects the city’s commitment to supporting pet-owning residents facing economic challenges.
