Albany — New York State Attorney General Letitia James says she believes Dorcey Applyrs will change the direction of the City of Albany, which is why she’s endorsing Applyrs for Mayor.
Applyrs, currently Albany’s Chief City Auditor, was joined by AG James on Wednesday afternoon at Albany’s War Room Tavern, where she also received endorsements by 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East and the Albany County Young Democrats, among others.
“I used to work in Albany,” James said. “I worked here for 10 years in the state legislature. I was a staff attorney working for a number of elected officials here in Albany. And you know what? Albany hasn’t changed. I worked here in the 90s and 2000s going further. Not much has changed in Albany. Not much economic development. Crime, unfortunately, is still a problem. We still have individuals without services. We need a direction, a change in direction. We need someone who is going to be singularly focused on working people here in the city of the Albany. And that person, my friends, is Dorcey.”…
