New York Hasn’t Had a A Dry Weekend In Nearly Six Months

In case you hadn’t noticed it has been raining an awful lot in the Capital Region for pretty much the entire month of May. We’ve had a few breaks here and there but for the most part we’ve had to deal with some pretty wet days.

Now that’s not to say that we didn’t need rain during those periods. We had wildfires burning in downstate New York due to drought in the fall and the much needed rain helped put an end to that dry period. Unfortunately it appears that they never got the memo that we had enough and could put it back on hold for a while.

Last dry weekend

According to this new weather data the last time that Albany, New York had a dry day was in November of 2024. That matches up with Saranac Lake and Syracuse. Other parts of New York have had some relief. NYC had a dry weekend back in April and Buffalo had a dry weekend just about a week ago.

While no one wants to have to deal with rainy weather on the weekends it looks like that is what we will have to be dealing with for a few more weeks, according to the monthly forecast on Accuweather. Right now for the month of June 2025 it shows the potential for rain on Friday June 6th and also rainy weather on June 13 and 14th. Obviously it is pretty far out but our first look at no wet weather could be the weekend of Jun 20-21…
