Rivers Casino to host free table game dealer academy

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady is looking to hire 12 new table games dealers. The casino will be hosting a free dealer training academy that kicks off on June 30.

Students of the program will learn to facilitate a range of popular and novelty games, with a heavy focus on the fundamentals of Blackjack. Classes run Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for six weeks.

Candidates who complete the academy’s final live dealing audition and earn their state gaming license will be offered a part-time or full-time table games dealer position at the casino. Rivers Casino dealers earn wages and tips totaling over $25 an hour, full benefits, a 401(k) plan, and tuition reimbursement opportunities.

The academy is open to all skill levels. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and able to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
