CAPITAL REGION, NY (WRGB) — During a ceremony to honor Liz Bishop’s 52 years in broadcast journalism at CBS6, Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan delivered a proclamation declaring May 30, 2025 to be Liz Bishop Day in the city.
Sheehan said that she has always been able to look to Liz as “a woman leader in this community, and it has been so inspiring to see you, to see how you have inspired people like me, and many others, by your strength, by the fact that you would show up every day, and you broke barriers, and you didn’t back down, and you truly transformed so many of us in this community.”
Sheehan thanked Liz for her pioneering work, and said she would miss seeing her on the TV, but knew she would still see her around town…
