JoDee Kenney sat down with Albany’s Dorcey Applyrs. She says that her values were shaped by her parents and grandparents. She has served the city for over a decade, and she says she has a record of getting things done. She says she was battle tested serving as city auditor during the pandemic.
Applyrs says she has a deep appreciation for the city despite its challenges, calls Albany her home and a place worth fighting for and says public safety comes up constantly. The number one issue she hears is the perception that Albany isn’t safe. She says Albany needs to economically thrive and that quality of life is always a priority. Applyrs says Albany is at a turning point. She says residents need to embrace the city we know and love and the history and leverage that and also look ahead at how to move the city forward…
