Authorities seize 17 ounces of drugs including fentanyl; two charged with felonies

Troy, NY (WRGB) — The Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 44-year-old Alfonza Wells and 35-year-old Alyssa Esteves both from Troy, following a significant drug bust in Lansingburgh. On June 4, 2025, authorities executed search warrants at 850 5th Avenue and 15 123rd Street in Troy, New York, as part of an ongoing investigation into fentanyl and cocaine trafficking in the area. Investigators seized approximately 17 ounces of fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine, along with drug packaging materials and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Wells and Esteves were arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree and endangering the welfare of a child. Both were arraigned in Troy City Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail without bail.
