Gov. Kathy Hochul announced $5 million in funding for improvements and enhancements to the Albany Pine Bush Preserve.
This would protect one of the last and largest examples of an inland pine barrens ecosystem in the world. It spans more than 3,350 aces and is home to many plants and animals, including the endangered Karner Blue Butterfly.
