Atlas Copco moving forward with Voorheesville expansion

VOORHEESVILLE — Swedish manufacturer Atlas Copco has restarted plans for a multi-million-dollar expansion at its Voorheesville plant after putting the project on ice earlier in the year.

The pause occurred in March around the same time that President Donald J. Trump’s administration began its aggressive regime of new tariffs on imports that rattled markets and led companies across the globe to reconsider investment in the U.S. The project had also been eligible for federal tax breaks aimed at renewable energy and combating climate change, which have been the target of Trump’s ire as well.
