SARATOGA SPRINGS — An Athens man was arrested on Saturday during the Belmont Stakes for allegedly using a concealed cellphone to take images up the skirts of unsuspecting women.
Saratoga Springs police said on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course, the 34-year-old man was allegedly taking the images as he navigated the crowd. When confronted by concerned citizens, the suspect allegedly became physically aggressive and attempted to choke one of the individuals who reported him to security.The man was arrested and charged with unlawful surveillance using a device to view under clothing, a felony; as well as two misdemeanors, criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing.The man was processed and released on an appearance ticket. He will be arraigned on Wednesday at Saratoga Springs City Court.The investigation remains ongoing.
