Albany County expects to take on former Kenwood Convent site

ALBANY — Albany County Executive Dan McCoy said last week he expects the county to end up owning the former Kenwood Convent site.

McCoy, discussing a jump in the number of economic development projects the county has taken on in the past few years, such as the Central Warehouse and the former College of Saint Rose, mentioned the fire-ravaged property between 9W and South Pearl Street.

“We’re going through leaps and bounds, and probably very shortly, we’re going to own, Doane Stuart,” McCoy told the Times Union, referring to the school that operated on the property from 1975 to 2009…
