ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Albany County District Attorney’s Office reported that 39-year-old Tequan Grimes of Albany confessed on Tuesday to leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen truck last year. Grimes pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of stolen property before Judge Thomas Marcelle.

Grimes admitted that on August 15, 2024, he erratically drove a Ford F-150 in Albany which had been reported stolen out of Troy. Albany Police tried to pull Grimes over after seeing him drive through a red light near Broadway, but Grimes instead sped off, leading officers on a pursuit over 60 mph in the city.
The chase came to an end when Grimes crashed into several vehicles on Clinton Avenue, resulting in him being taken into custody around 1:30 p.m. He now faces two to four years in state prison in accordance with his plea.
