ALBANY — The 26-year-old dirt bike rider accused of causing the hit-and-run crash that nearly killed University at Albany student Alexa Kropf last year will go on trial in August.
Albany County Judge William Little scheduled Austin Breyette’s trial for Aug. 26. Jury selection for the Watervliet man’s trial was scheduled to begin on Monday but the judge on Thursday agreed to postpone the trial.
Breyette was arrested in May 2024, weeks after the April 26, 2024, crash that left Kropf hospitalized. Breyette was allegedly riding on Hudson Avenue when his dirt bike struck and critically injured the UAlbany freshman. She spent more than a week in a coma…
