Veeder elementary principal given surprise send-off

COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Veeder Elementary School celebrated its longtime principal on Friday. Nora Sullivan is retiring after more than 30 years with the South Colonie Central School District.

They held a send-off event featuring a flash mob and heartfelt presentation from students and staff. The Albany County Legislature also awarded her a special proclamation for her impact on the community.

Principal Sullivan said she had no idea they were doing all of this.

“I’m just overwhelmed with pride and joy. The students make this building happen, and I was just lucky to be a part of it,” she said. “I just feel like I’ve been the luckiest principal to have had this many years in a special school such as this. It’s the students that make it so special, and I’m just so glad I was able to be a part of it.”…
