Police: Suspect fled to Albany area, charged with murder for killing on Neutral Court

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Police Department announced an arrest in an investigation into a fatal shooting from April on Thursday afternoon.

The Police Department announced the arrest of Mikel Hackett, 39. He is facing charges of murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said Hackett was found in the Albany area by the United States Marshal’s Task Force. He was then transported to the Syracuse Police Department Headquarters…
