Police: Syracuse murder suspect found in Cohoes with drugs, gun

COHOES — A Syracuse man accused of murder was allegedly found with a loaded gun and a trove of illegal drugs by authorities at a Cohoes residence on Wednesday.

Cohoes police and federal agents with the U.S. Marshals Service executed a search warrant at 46 Columbia St. at 1:55 p.m. and found 39-year-old Mikel Hackett, who allegedly killed a 26-year-old Mason Doran in Syracuse on April 23, according to Cohoes police.

Authorities also uncovered a loaded Smith and Wesson handgun, more than 40 grams of fentanyl, nearly 7 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and about 13 grams of cocaine, Cohoes police said in a news release posted on its Facebook page…
