A 71-year-old woman from Westerlo is accused of letting 22 dogs and 15 horses live in deplorable conditions.
Deputies responded to a residence on County Route 401 on June 19 after receiving reports of potential animal cruelty. They observed signs of neglect and obtained a warrant to search the property on Wednesday. Tanja M. Morse allegedly left the animals surrounded by feces and urine – both inside and outside the residence, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office said.
