Police Seek Suspect in Albany Teen’s Fatal Shooting

Albany police are actively searching for the suspect responsible for the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy on Monday night (June 23). Officers responded to reports of a shooting around 11 p.m. near Clinton Avenue and North Lake Avenue, where they found the teen with a gunshot wound to his back. He was transported to Albany Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries.

The victim, identified by his father as Satour Burns, was reportedly harassed by other kids on a bus before the incident. He got off the bus at Quail Street and Clinton Avenue and was shot while trying to reach his father’s home. Ramear Burns, the victim’s father, believes the shooter was alerted by the kids on the bus about Satour’s whereabouts. The shooter, described as small and possibly a teenager, called out Satour’s name before the shooting.

According to Times Union, the West Hill neighborhood, where the shooting occurred, has seen other incidents of violence. A message reading “Stop Shooting” is scrawled on a building near Quail Street, reflecting the community’s frustration…
