Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Watervliet park

WATERVLIET — Police have charged a city man with attempted second-degree murder after he allegedly stabbed another person Tuesday at a park on the Hudson River.

Fred Santiago Jr, 46, was arrested by police shortly after 10:45 p.m. at Mayor James Cavanaugh Hudson Shores Park. He was involved in a dispute with the individual before he stabbed the victim in the neck, city police said in a statement.

The victim was treated at a hospital for serious injuries. Police said the victim is expected to make a full recovery…
