Albany man sentenced to 25 years for role in teen’s death

Sincere Cancer is second man to be convicted in the slaying of Destiny Green

ALBANY — An Albany County judge sentenced a Schenectady man Wednesday to 25 years in state prison for his role in the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Shaker High School student Destiny Greene.

Sincere Cancer, 23, received the sentence from Judge Andra Ackerman after pleading guilty to attempted murder in the second degree in April.

The shooting occurred on the night of May 24, 2021, on Wilbur Street. According to prosecutors, Cancer was with a friend, Brandon Rivera, who had arranged a Facebook Marketplace sale with the intent to commit a robbery. Greene was sitting in a car when Cancer and Rivera allegedly opened fire on the vehicle. Greene was struck and later died at Albany Memorial Hospital…
